Our hotel is built with a strong commitment to sustainability. It is designed to be circular, passive and nature-inclusive – future-proof in every fibre. We are BREEAM Excellent certified.
SUSTAINABLE ACCOMMODATION
We use natural and recycled materials. We save water and generate a large portion of our own energy. Thanks to solar energy and heat recovery, we strive to make the hotel as energy-neutral as possible.
SMART WATER USE
Water reuse is the norm with us. The grey wastewater from showers and washbasins is collected daily, treated and reused for toilet flushing and watering the golf course.
Our green roofs and façades capture rainwater. This keeps the plants healthy, prevents flooding and keeps things cooler on hot days.
WASTE AS A RAW MATERIAL
Organic waste from the kitchen and golf course will in the near future be digested into biogas, the residual product. With this, we are going to generate green electricity for the entire hotel.
nature-inclusive design
The hotel lives in harmony with nature. Green roofs, vertical gardens and flower-rich borders attract birds, bees and butterflies. In the facades and on the roof you will find nesting boxes for birds and bats. Around the hotel, new trees and water features create a green, vibrant environment.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
The hotel is built using sustainable, largely recycled materials, such as glass, wood and the use of Japanese bamboo. In this way, we reduce our ecological footprint and create a warm, natural aesthetic.
GREEN TO EVERY DETAIL
From the green roofs to the flower-filled tree pits, nature has been considered everywhere. The various water features provide a home for birds, fish and amphibians, and provide cooling in the summer.
PROTECTION OF FLORA AND FAUNA
Careful consideration was given to flora and fauna during construction. We work in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act and provide space for birds, bats and insects. In this way, we contribute to biodiversity and give back to nature.
OUR PLACE IN THE LANDSCAPE
The hotel lies outside the Netherlands Nature Network and Natura 2000, but borders the Special Provincial Landscape. With our green landscaping, we are enhancing the local nature.
